A Parent and a Daughter on the Volleyball Journey
Andrea Palmerini
For the past 6 years I’ve been following my daughter Chiara in volleyball, and like many parents I’ve become really passionate about this amazing sport. At the beginning I was just a fan… then I moved from shouting in the stands to playing the drum, especially during the U16 national finals!!
In recent years I also got into recording matches, offering this service to parents and relatives who can’t be there in person. Last year on average I was doing about 3 live streams per week .In the end, it’s a really nice service to provide. For example, when I think about my mother (Chiara’s grandmother), who can’t attend the matches, seeing her granddaughter play is the highlight of her week.
At the same time, it’s also a responsibility, because when the audience grows, you can’t let people down and you always need to deliver good quality.
My daughter has played for different clubs, and each time I created new YouTube channels where we streamed the matches. These channels usually grow quite fast in terms of subscribers and views.
This year, while creating a new channel, I started wondering what apps were available on the Apple Store besides the well-known ones. Thanks to free trials, I tested several apps, including ScoreLive. Many of them were complicated to use, especially in terms of user experience. With ScoreLive, instead, I immediately felt comfortable because of its simplicity and the many features it offers – really impressive.
First of all, the scoreboard: very simple and exactly how I wanted it. Then the possibility to create teams in advance with logos and player lists, and later set up the matches. A few days before each game I prepare everything, so I’m ready when I start the live stream.
During the live stream, interacting with the app’s control panel is really easy. For example, I use the zoom a lot and change it often to focus on different parts of the match, especially near the net.
At first I had some doubts because there is no remote control feature, but with a stable tripod there are no vibrations when pressing the buttons.
Connecting to the YouTube channel is immediate and I’ve never had problems or interruptions. Also, ScoreLive saves the whole match on the phone memory, which is a great backup in case something goes wrong during the live stream.
My viewers also like the experience with ScoreLive. When I first tried the app, I congratulated the ScoreLive team and felt free to suggest some possible additional features – and I found the team very open and willing to listen.
Chiara currently plays for Giotti Victoria Volley in the Serie D league. The channel I created is called “GVV Tube” (GVV Tube - YouTube) on YouTube, where you can watch all the matches I recorded using ScoreLive.
I truly recommend this app and I can’t wait to see the new features!
